As a military brat, I didn't have much room to indulge my inner pack rat...we got transferred every year or two, and cleared out all of my *stuff* with every move.
I managed to keep a few treasures, though, and this is one that never fails to make me smile. Meet my childhood sleeping bag!
I realize that this totally dates me as a 70's gal, but it's worth it. Guess what color is on the inside? You got it- bubble gum pink! Do you have many remnants of your past? Please share your favorites!

Cute this sleeping bag jennie. I remember these and oh lets not forget the Spiderman and Batman bags like my son's both had in the 70's!
I have a pink and blue peasant style dress from when I was 5 - it has an elasticized bodice and a ruffle at the bottom. I wore it as a dress, as a tunic and as a shirt until I just couldn't squeeze into it anymore, but I still have it! :)
Oh, I have my first pair of black patent leather shoes, from 1964, the year I was born, and also a baby bonnet, and a slip from when I was a baby. And of course my first teddy bear, which was rubber.... and is now a collectors item on ebay, not mine, but I have seen others like it.
I remember that sleeping bag....goes way back to the Cuddles and Kim Rushing days!! WOW...hadn't realized you had tucked it away...wonder if your own little girl wouldn't treasure playing in it or sleeping in it one day...bet she would!
Loved your narrative on Lucketts...can't wait to go and visit it myself...preferably with my own little girl!! We always have such fun together...can't wait! :)
Items like this are so important! I blogged last year about one of mine here:
