Thursday's Treasure

This note was a little treasure from my treasure this week.  She wrote this on her own in her bedroom- unprompted and for no "reason" at all.  Let's see how good you all are at reading 5 year old writing!  Leave a comment with what you think the note says, and I'll come back later tonight and decipher it for you :)

I think it might say "Mommy &
Daddy, thanks for the candy" but I'm not sure!!

We (as in five of us!!) think it might say :
Mommy & (her little '&' sign is so cute!) Daddy, this flower is homemade Sophia.

I remember when mine were five years old, and had lovely writing like this! It's funny how you can read your own childrens writeing quite easy (most the time!) but never anyone elses :o)

Tell Sophie we all think she has lovely writing :o)

Have a great day jennie.

This is so sweet. I miss notes like this. Inventive spelling. Last week I bought an antique sewing table. My kids knew that I had to clean it, so they each threw a post-it note inside the drawer. "I [heart] you, Mom." and "Mom, my BFF." I cried when I opened the drawer and saw these notes.

I'm usually pretty good at deciphering inventive spelling, but probably can only decipher my own kids'. Not sure what Sophie wrote, but I am so curious.

I love her & sign, too :)

OK- I'm not sure if I could have figured this all out on my own, but once she told me what it said, it made sense. It says "Mommy & Daddy thanks for this awesome day
Sophia"

What floored me the most, I guess, was that it was a completely ordinary day. We hadn't done anything special, gone anywhere fun, or had anything particularly exciting for dinner. She just had a sudden rush of appreciation.

Victoria- Yay for the sewing table, and what sweeties to think of leaving you those notes :)

Yep, I can see it! We thought the last word was day, but voted against it :o)
