I first laid eyes on these sweet books about a year ago. They were on a table at an antique mall in MD, and I fell a little bit in love. They seemed an impractical purchase, though, as the price was kind of high. When I saw them again this year, and the price had gone down slightly, I scooped them up. The graphics are some of the most precious I have ever seen. I couldn't resist any longer!

The books are made of thickish paper, and there are color pictures and text on each page. Each book has about 10 pages of story. They are made by James & Jonathan, and printed in the good ole USA. Can you guess the copyright date?

I'll guess 1946?

So close, Karen! It is 1947.
Thanks for guessing Donna- I can always count on you to play :)
Karen is always so good at your guessing games Jennie!!
Well done Karen!! Amazing guess! :o)
Do you know, I ruled out the forties because of over here in the forties, we stopped doing a lot of publishing that wasn't essential..
These books are beautiful though Jennie, and I would have picked them up too :o)
Happy, happy sunday my lovely, hope you're feeling peachy today :o)

I am so jealous! I dont think I could have waited.
We dont have antique malls around here like you have there. I have to satisfy myself with the thrift shoppes, and once in a while find a treat.
I bet the illustrations in your books are just as sweet as the covers.
