Word Play

Clicking on this image will take you to today's "word of the day" according to Webster. It will have instructions for how to subscribe to the service, too, if you are interested.
~*~
What I am most interested in today, though, is YOUR personal word of the day. I have an exciting new project idea, and I'm searching for words or very short phrases that either inspire, motivate or amuse you.
~*~
Please, please help me out by leaving a comment and posting your favorite(s)! I will return early next week to share the reason for this data gathering- I promise.

Those Squirrelly Squirrels

Spring has sprung in my yard! As I stepped closer to inspect the two crocuses that have popped up near the driveway, my eye was drawn to several mossy clumps laying randomly about. Now that the snow has finally melted, the squirrels are in a hunger frenzy - digging away to find all of their buried treasure from the fall. Good luck, little guys!

Woodland creature collectors get ready: this sweet little vintage squirrel family will be in sosovintage later today.

Friday Fun

Oftentimes on Etsy, 5 photo slots just isn't enough. I've always wondered how people make those listings that have a group of photos like this in one photo slot. I read about bighugelabs.com and their mosaic maker, and decided to give it a whirl. How FUN! And easy!
~*~
It is free to join, and you can spend hours or days playing around with making all sorts of cool things. Consider yourself warned that it's hard to break away once you get going. I made this little montage this morning to showcase the green items I have ready to list in sosorosey.

Thursday's Treasure

Sometimes I can't get as much done as I'd like simply because there isn't enough time in the day. But other times, I don't get things done because I have something way more exciting going on than the usual *day to day*. Yesterday was one of those times!
~*~
I had to take a hiatus from my clearing out project (darn!) because we had visitors who needed the guestroom last night. I cleared out the space to make way for my parents, who came to stay with us for a couple of days for the special occasion of.... drumroll.... wait for it.... going to see the Harlem Globetrotters!
~*~
Ever since Sophie became a Scooby Doo fan, she has been enamored with the Globetrotters who appear on several of the episodes. As a Christmas gift, my parents found out when the team was coming to town, and last night was the big night. We had SO much fun- that was definitely my treasure for the week.
~*~
But, this large Lady Buxton dressertop jewelry case ranks up there too. I found this last week at the Salvation Army- it was marked $8.99, but it happened to be 20% off day, so I paid $7.20. It is in fabulous condition, so while I paid more than I'd have liked, I just couldn't pass it by.
~*~
So, today I'm trying to play catch up. I have fabric to cut, an odd sized box to drum up for shipping a tray, and of course, the makeover project to work on. And what are you up to?

Spring Bouquet

Welcome spring!
~*~
New sosorosey vintage fabric and crochet~edge gift tags are ready to be listed. I LOVE making these, but it is more of a production than you'd think to round up all the necessary supplies.
~*~
Pre-made tags, fabric, pinking shears, fabric glue, hole punch, crochet thread, small crochet hook, regular scissors... I got smart this time and made a little kit (ie. a baggie with all the stuff zipped inside) so that I can just make tags whenever the mood strikes and time allows!
~*~
Thank you very much to all who voted for the makeover fabric yesterday. I was especially happy to see some new faces (hi Kathryn!), and hear the thought out opinions of many of you. Between the votes left here, and the ones I got from an Etsy forum thread, the winner is.........
number 3!!!
That one got 10 votes, #2 was second with 6 votes, and numbers 1 and 2 had 4 votes each. Come on back Monday to see how it looks all done up!

Vote for Makeover Monday #2

It's voting time again! This time I'll be using the material with the most votes to make either a large bowl or a lidded clutter keeper. I'll decide which one to make- you just let me know what to make it from, OK?
~*~ #1 kelly green and bubble gum pink gingham
~*~
#2 Ecru on caramel with small bursts of rich pink
~*~
#3 emerald, grass and lime green with blue and violet pops
~*~

#4 creamsicle, sky, mint and mustard with chocolate
~*~
Please leave a comment with the # of your favorite...I can't wait to see which one wins! I'll let you know tomorrow. The more votes, the merrier, so feel free to tell your friends :)

Makeover Monday: 3/1

I started with the *chosen* fabric: palest blue with teal and mustard design.
~*~
Meet your makeover! You all did such a fabulous job of choosing that I believe I will ask for your help every week. Come back tomorrow to view the fabric choices for next week... and have a marvelous Monday!!!
~*~
ps- You convinced me to go ahead and swallow my pride. I took "before" photos of the craft disaster area, and will post my first installment of the craft room makeover series in a week or so. Thanks so much for the encouragement!
