I made this trivet/coaster last night, and the first thing I thought of when I saw the finished product was peppermint. Not just any peppermints, though. Only the Starbrite kind, by Brachs I think. Those were the ones my grandma always had in her purse. And the ones grandpa always had in his pocket. Funny how the smallest thing can trigger a tidal wave of nostalgia when you least expect it. Starbrite Peppermints

Happens all of the time to me.... great memories of my grandparents, and aunts and uncles too !! Love when things trigger memories !!
