Exciting Times!

~*~
Sophie came shrieking out of her bedroom this morning to inform me that her second front tooth came out.  FINALLY!!!  We've only been anticipating this since November.  Here she is this morning at the bus stop, proudly displaying the new tooth space and her super cool field day t-shirt.
~*~
Not only did I survive field day, I really enjoyed it.  We had beautiful, perfect weather and the kids had a blast.

AND, guess what?  This very post is my 1000th blog post.  ONE THOUSAND!  What a huge milestone, and a great ride.  Thanks so much for joining me- it has been awesome getting to make so many new friends.
I really look forward to more of our journey together.

And Then

~*~
Within a week of tooth number 2 coming out, Sophie came home from school bearing tooth number 3 in a little plastic tooth shaped case.  According to her, she bumped foreheads with a girl at recess and the tooth just fell out.  O~kaaaaaay.  We gave that story to the dentist today who suspects that Sophie must have clamped her jaws down when the heads knocked.  In any case, it was ready to come out, and apparently so is its wiggly front twin.  "Any day now" says the dentist.  So, it's likely that Sophie's two front teeth will be missing just in time for us to sing a special Christmas carol just for her.... mwuahahahaha.

In other news, my sincere apologies for slacking on the Makeover Mondays these last couple of weeks.  I hope to be back with that next week :)

New Space

For the last couple of weeks, Sophie has been off and on preoccupied with her bottom front tooth's looseness.  While she was feeling excited about the "big kidness" of it all, I knew she was a little nervous about whether or not it would hurt when it came out.  Now all of that wonder and worry is behind her, and she is indeed feeling very mature- her tooth came out Friday night during "pizza and movie night"!!
~*~
In a humorous twist of events, she didn't even feel it come out.  Didn't even know it had come out, until I asked her how the tooth was doing.  She showed me, and I shrieked, "It's not THERE!!!"  We looked in vain all over the couch, in the ice cream bowl, in her pajamas.  Yep.  You guessed it.  She must have swallowed it.

So, Sophie spent the remainder of the evening shaking her head saying, "I can't believe it" and looking at her new space in the mirror.  We wrote a note to the tooth fairy explaining what happened.  Fortunately, the tooth fairy is not a stickler for seeing the actual tooth.  She left a glittery dollar bill for our big girl.  Who, by the way, swears that she will never, ever spend that special dollar.
