Makeover Monday: 12/20

Here she is, the bare 2010 Thoma tree. We have been getting our tree at the Lake Ridge Nursery for many years. They are always very helpful, have a great selection, and even provide hot cocoa and cookies for you while your tree is being tied onto the car. They throw in a free 6" poinsettia, too! We're not sure whether we ended up with a Douglas or a Frasier fir, but she is over 7 feet tall and smells like heaven.

I put the lights up on Saturday. Well, my first attempt was on Friday but I ended up with a bum string in the middle of the tree. Sophie and I did the ornaments on Sunday, and we're pretty darned happy with the results! Now we're ready for Santa to come put some presents underneath...

Blow Mold Bonanza

Who doesn't love a vintage Christmas? Apparently SOMEONE doesn't, since they had the audacity to donate all of these late 60s/early 70s Empire blow molds to the thrift store! Shame on them, but yay for me. I can't wait to give these cuties a new home. They will be listed in sosovintage the week of November 15th. If there is one you must have for your collection, let me know and I'll reserve it just for you :)

Snow Day!

We are in the middle of a major winter storm! We have 18" of snow and it's still coming down- and will be all night long.
~*~
Our backyard is a winter wonderland :)

We are taking this opportunity to dress our tree, wrap presents, play in the snow, and drink some VERY decadent hot chocolate.

There should be a snowstorm on this date every year. It's absolutely perfect to have this time to thoroughly enjoy the warmth of our home, the love of our family, the beauty of nature, and the spirit of the season.
