Find #1 and Makeover Part II

~*~
I knew this was a treasure when I spied it under various other old books at the antique market.  Lol.  But, not only did the title leap out at me, one flip through the pages and I felt like I'd struck gold.
~*~
33 samples of mint condition 70s wallpaper!!  Most are 6" by 8", but a few are 6" by 6".

Here's my little bowl from yesterday's fabric.  All of the colors and patterns of this one just invite you to hold it and look at it from every angle.  She'll be in sosorosey soon :)

If all goes as planned, tomorrow's *Work In Progress* post will feature photos from the origami class I am leading for a dozen of my mother's friends.  Wish me luck!

Shabby Shelf Project

A kind customer from Colorado recently sent me this photo of her bookcase project. She purchased some vintage wallpaper from sosovintage, and transformed her plain jane shelf unit into a shabby chic stunner. Well done, Jackie!! Thanks so much for sharing :)

Thursday's Treasure

There is something special about vintage vinyl wallpaper. The soft feel, the lovely texture, the weighty drape of it. I found these two beautiful rolls at two different thrift stores a few weeks ago, but haven't been sure how to list them. I finally did some research this morning, and was surprised at the going rate for a foot of vintage wallpaper!

The pink roses with avocado dots and coordinating stripe is a brand new roll. It is a very generous 27 inches long, but unfortunately, I have no idea exactly how many feet come on a roll. My best guess is 40 feet.

This slate blue flowers and vines roll has a really cool raised stripe texture. It is a partial roll that measures 21" long. Again, without unrolling, I am not sure how many feet are here. My estimate: 20 feet.

So, here's the fun part!
I paid $2.99 for the pink and .90 for the blue.
I've seen vintage wallpaper on Etsy for $6.50+ a foot.

Supposing I only charged $5 a foot, that's $300 worth of wallpaper for $3.89. Not bad, right?
