Oh No You Di-int

~*~
The majority of my interactions on etsy range from friendly to ultra-pleasant.  But eeeeeevery once in awhile a nutjob slips through the cyber cracks.  Now I certainly won't go so low as to post names with these tidbits, but I thought it could be kind of fun and educational to share the kind of message that an online shopowner will deal with from time to time.
~*~
In an attempt to gather different perspectives, I'm hoping that people will give their reactions in the comment section and perhaps thoughts about what the appropriate response would be.  At the end of the day today, I will leave a comment with the response that I gave.  Are you ready for installment one?  The following message came to me from a person I have never met or spoken with...

Makeover Monday: 9/10

~*~
One of my good friends found this adorable button fabric in her stash, and asked me to make something for her to give as a gift to a button-loving friend.
~*~
~*~
She wanted a "loopy bowl" so that the buttons would show.  It didn't come out to be as large as we had hoped, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in personality!  I hope it will be loved :)

The Craft Challenge Finale is creeping up, but there is still plenty of time to enter and get your craft on!  Read details HERE.  If you end up with more than one entry- all the better.  I'll need photos and a short description (your name, project description, pantone colors used, and any additional details) by September 16th.  Don't hesitate to comment here or send me a message if you have questions!!

Almost five hours of fun and rides before a tornado warning sent everyone running for cover.  We spent about a half an hour in the Johnny Rockets bathroom corridor as our "evacuation shelter".  There were a few tense moments as people were reading reports on their smart phones of tornadoes touching down within a mile of us.  The power flickered, but never went off.
~*~
When the downpour slowed to a more mild downpour, we gave Sophie the only poncho we brought and headed for the car- via the gift shop of course.  Had a crazy detour of a ride home due to downed trees, and came home to a house without electricity.  We put on dry clothes, headed to IHOP for dinner, and our power was on when we got home.

Daily Dose of Adorable

I first laid eyes on these sweet books about a year ago.  They were on a table at an antique mall in MD, and I fell a little bit in love.  They seemed an impractical purchase, though, as the price was kind of high.  When I saw them again this year, and the price had gone down slightly, I scooped them up.  The graphics are some of the most precious I have ever seen.  I couldn't resist any longer!
~*~

~*~
The books are made of thickish paper, and there are color pictures and text on each page. Each book has about 10 pages of story. They are made by James & Jonathan, and printed in the good ole USA. Can you guess the copyright date?

Friday's Favorite Fabric Finds

I suspect that yard sale season is winding down in VA, because there have been loads of goodies at the thrift stores recently.  I can hardly keep up!  Oh, who am I kidding?  I'm not keeping up at all!!  But, in the spirit of trying, here are some bright beauties for you:
~*~

~*~
All of these come from vintage sheets.  The top one is Vera Neumann!  I love the patchy Raggedy Ann dog in the bottom one, don't you?
~*~
Here's hoping you have some fun plans in store for the weekend.  We have a full day of Six Flags amusement park tomorrow for hubby's company picnic.  Barring any pouring rain, we should have a blast!  Sunday is going to be catch up day with chores, but Sophie is hoping to get to Game Stop to spend her responsibility points.  The new Mario 3ds game is calling her name :)

Thursday's Treasure

~*~
Did you think for even an instant that I made these beautiful things?  If so, you must be a new follower, lol!  No, this adorable cake bunting was handmade by Caroline from Beautiful Thinking UK on etsy.
~*~
 ~*~
My one teeny part in this production was packaging up and sending the stunning fabrics that Caroline chose from sosovintage.  Everything else was all her!  She has an incredible eye, doesn't she?
~*~
 ~*~
Bunting just somehow kicks every festivity level up about 10 notches!  They are perfect for any occasion, and in my book, buying one or ten is a good enough reason to form an occasion.
~*~
~*~
All of these items are for sale in Beautiful Thinking.  Click the banner above to shop the whole store, or click the individual photos above to go directly to those listings.  Warning: Cover your keyboards...Drool Alert!
~*~
Looks like the pink bunting has already been scooped up, but I'll bet Caroline would love to make something similar just for you.  Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful thinking with us, Caroline!!

Wednesday's Works

My main work this week so far has centered around Sophie and preparing for back-to-school.  But, in my spare time I've been taking photos and preparing to revamp my shop stock of towels.  Here are a few goodies coming soon!
