Egg Bowls

I just finished a set of 6 small bowls for a repeat sosorosey customer.  I love the way they look together!

She plans to nestle one Ukrainian egg in each, so she chose her colors carefully to coordinate with each egg.  I think they will look darling.  Not sure if they will be placesettings, but wouldn't that be a very Martha idea?  Click on the egg picture or right HERE to learn more about Ukrainian Easter eggs.

Handmade for Him

My latest set of 5 nesting bowls is perfect for the man in your life.  Let him organize his man cave accessories in style!  Each bowl is different, but they are all crocheted from a double strand of handsome cottons for extra strength and durability.  Blues, greens, browns, ecru... and *shhhhh* just the slightest hint of very manly eggplant.  ;)

Welcome Back

It seems like it has been eons since I've made a set of rag-topped nested bowls!
~*~
I've had the bases of these three made for quite some time, but I've had a heck of a time finding just the right fabric to tie the colors together. I set the bowls aside for at least a month.
~*~

On Monday I found the soft old cotton kerchief in photo one, remembered my bowl bases, and brought the nest set back to life.

~*~ While I'm always thinking of new items to make for sosorosey, the rag-top nested bowls are one of my earliest *signature* creations. I'm glad to have some new ones back in the shop :)

Wildcard

For the first time ever, my work will be on display and for sale in a real, live shop! The building renovation is still underway, but soon Wildcard will be an eclectic gallery of handmade and vintage in the heart of Lawrenceville in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My big box of sweet petite bowls and rag topped bowlees will be heading north today. I have my fingers crossed that they are a popular addition to the shop!

A Match Made in Heaven

Do you ever make something, sit back, and think, "Wow- look at that!"?
~*~
The whole time I was making the bases of these nesting bowls, I wondered what on Earth I would choose for their rag tops. I was afraid of making them too busy- after all, the colors in the yarn are so bright already!
~*~
Rummaging through my stash of rag topping fabrics, I stumbled on this pink and yellow sari. Can you believe how close the match is? Crazy!
