Makeover Monday: 9/27

I started today's project with some lime green cotton yarn,
~*~then I kicked it up a notch with some of this adorable Halloween owl bandanna.
~*~
What a fun contrast!
~*~

I usually weave in the ends of the fabric on these rag-topped bowls, but I couldn't bring myself to do it on this one. The little knotty ends add such a cute, whimsical touch.
~*~
Happy Monday! After a fun-filled weekend here, it's back to our regular routine. The big items on the agenda this week are my trip to the dentist for the permanent crown fitting and Sophie's school pictures. I will be finishing the project that I blogged about yesterday, and starting a rug set for an extra special customer. How about you? Do you have a fun week ahead? I sure hope so!

A Match Made in Heaven

Do you ever make something, sit back, and think, "Wow- look at that!"?
~*~
The whole time I was making the bases of these nesting bowls, I wondered what on Earth I would choose for their rag tops. I was afraid of making them too busy- after all, the colors in the yarn are so bright already!
~*~
Rummaging through my stash of rag topping fabrics, I stumbled on this pink and yellow sari. Can you believe how close the match is? Crazy!

Makeover Monday 4/27

Good Monday morning!
So, what happens if you take a plain, avocado colored cotton bowl...

... and add a strip from a beautiful french cotton scarf?

This!!

This will be a set of 3 nesting bowls very soon. Look for them in my shop later this week!

What are your plans for today? Got anything fun going on? Please share!

Yippee!

Isn't that a fun word? You can't really say it without smiling. Yippee! Yippee!
And, I never see my friend and teammate yippeevintage.etsy.com without smiling either. Her beautiful red and aqua avatar inspired this new bowlee of mine. Pop on in to see Ms. Yippee's "sweet blend of old and new"- you will smile, I just know it!!
