Special Day

Today is Mom's birthday!  We spent it looking for shells at the beach, trying somewhere new for lunch, and having a blast at the arcade in the evening.  It's always a little weird to have your birthday when you're away from home, but it makes it kind of extra exciting, too.  Here are a few shots from our day at the beach

Tomorrow is our last day of vacation.  We have a full day planned- beach in the morning and a dolphin cruise in the evening.  Here's hoping we get some cute dolphin photos to share- I know a special someone who really loves them :)

Makeover Monday: 4/9

 Oh, the sweetness of a freshly dressed up little girl!  You can't see it in this photo, but it actually snowed a few flakes for a minute or two before we left for our family Easter celebration yesterday!

Once the Easter egg hunt began, it was a sports fiesta for the rest of the day!  Yes, Sophie is playing baseball and football at the same time.  There were also a frisbee and a basketball in the mix somewhere, too.

Apparently the very best game of all, though, involved all of the younger cousins ganging up on their oldest cousin, Pete.  What a good sport and a great cousin!

We're heading back from our trip this evening, and the rest of the week will be spent in "vacation recovery".   How was your Easter?  Any big plans for the week?  Do tell!

Thursday's Treasure

Last night I took the night off from *work*.  I can't even remember the last time I didn't spend my entire evening cutting fabric, packing up orders, doing laundry, and/or crocheting.  So, I guess I was overdue for a little R and R.  I put Sophie to bed at 8:00, then crawled into my own bed with this Elizabeth Berg book that I started earlier this week.  I read for FOUR hours straight, finished the book, and went to bed.  Bliss!!!

Taking a Break

Hello, My Bloggy Friend! I just wanted to let you know that I am going to take a break from posting for a week or so. Life has gotten too hectic for the time being, and something's gotta give. I do hope you won't forget me, and that you will come back to visit in August. Stay cool!!!

Leavin' On a Jet Plane

For a glorious week. Over a week...8 fabulous days! Tomorrow morning we're heading to Moab, Utah...home of high red rock desert, fragrant junipers, deep blue skies, slickrock fins, wide open spaces, snow-capped mountains. The place where I always feel like I belong. Where I breathe deeper and dream better. Where our biggest daily decisions are where to hike and where to eat, where to watch the sunset, whether to take a boat ride down the Colorado River or have a campfire in the canyon.

It's been two long years, and I can't wait to get back! Here's a picture of our little family from our trip in 2007. Now my daughter is almost 4- she is going to LOVE this adventure. I don't know if I will be savvy enough to blog while I am away, but I will definitely share a photo or two at some point.

I'll be back Oct. 17th, all refreshed and rejuvenated, ready to get ready for the holidays (I hope). Until then, be well- I'll miss you :)
