Exciting Times!

Sophie came shrieking out of her bedroom this morning to inform me that her second front tooth came out.  FINALLY!!!  We've only been anticipating this since November.  Here she is this morning at the bus stop, proudly displaying the new tooth space and her super cool field day t-shirt.

Not only did I survive field day, I really enjoyed it.  We had beautiful, perfect weather and the kids had a blast. 

~*~

AND, guess what?  This very post is my 1000th blog post.  ONE THOUSAND!  What a huge milestone, and a great ride.  Thanks so much for joining me- it has been awesome getting to make so many new friends.

 I really look forward to more of our journey together.

Friday's Favorite Fabric Finds

Happy Friday the 13th!  My apologies to anyone out there with friggatriskaidekaphobia, though if you have it, you are probably too busy freaking out today to read this post.  Anyhoo, the suitcases are unpacked, the laundry is done, and we're back to our little routine around here.

Today is Field Day at Sophie's school, and I will be in charge of the *frisbee toss* for a couple hundred 6, 7 and 8 year olds.  I plan to pre-medicate with some Advil, and do a celebratory run to the thrift store when I survive.

I guess it's a no-brainer that the pink roses is my favorite fabric, but all of these have their own special charm.  The red check is super picnic-pretty :)

Other than a Sunday evening birthday party, we don't have too much that we have to do this weekend.  I'll be posting some gorgeous quilt photos from a sosovintage customer, and some fun art finds, too.  What will you be doing?

As you probably know, we are BIG American Idol fans in this house.  I would pay to see this guy in concert tomorrow!  Can't wait to see him tonight ;)

When we left for Massachusetts, the azaleas were getting ready to blossom.  One week later and bam! they are all starting to burst open.  This is the one by our front deck - its bright beauty made bringing in all those loads of groceries just a *little* easier today :)

Makeover Monday: 4/9

 Oh, the sweetness of a freshly dressed up little girl!  You can't see it in this photo, but it actually snowed a few flakes for a minute or two before we left for our family Easter celebration yesterday!

Once the Easter egg hunt began, it was a sports fiesta for the rest of the day!  Yes, Sophie is playing baseball and football at the same time.  There were also a frisbee and a basketball in the mix somewhere, too.

Apparently the very best game of all, though, involved all of the younger cousins ganging up on their oldest cousin, Pete.  What a good sport and a great cousin!

We're heading back from our trip this evening, and the rest of the week will be spent in "vacation recovery".   How was your Easter?  Any big plans for the week?  Do tell!

Happy Easter

 We began what may be a new Easter tradition yesterday- Easter cupcake making in lieu of egg dying.

 Auntie Gretchen was kind enough to let us take over her kitchen for several hours.  All four cousins worked hard to create masterpieces for Easter dessert.

They made their own frosting colors, and got to clean the spoons after it was all said and done.  The cleaning *may* have been the favorite part!
