Makeover Monday: 3/12

 A new sosorosey customer purchased the made-to-order boy Easter basket last week.  She wanted light blue, light yellow and white as the colors.  I poked around in my stash and found this gorgeous cotton that fit the bill.

Unsure of whether or not I'd have enough of the sand dollar fabric, I chose this one to use as the base.  The colors would blend, and I'd be certain not to run out of the primary fabric at a crucial point.

 Finally, after all these years of crocheting with fabric, I can pretty well envision what it will look like once it's cut and crocheted.  This one is every bit as beautiful as I knew it would be!

This guy is all set to send off to Texas as soon as it is approved!

And guess what?  I had enough fabric left to make another basket to slip onto the sosorosey shelves!  This one has the two fabrics reversed, but the bow, like the other one, is made from a strip of each fabric.

There is another basket coming up this week, too... this time a ruffly girl one ... so stay tuned for that!  I also have the promise of some customer project photos to share, and a custom order made from baby sheets.  What will you be working on this week?

Egg Bowls

 I just finished a set of 6 small bowls for a repeat sosorosey customer.  I love the way they look together!

She plans to nestle one Ukrainian egg in each, so she chose her colors carefully to coordinate with each egg.  I think they will look darling.  Not sure if they will be placesettings, but wouldn't that be a very Martha idea?  Click on the egg picture or right HERE to learn more about Ukrainian Easter eggs.

Friday's Favorite Fabric Finds

Happy Friday, Folks!  I have six fabrics to share today, bundled in pairs just because I thought they looked kinda nice that way.  While I'm always a sucker for florals, I get that you need to have stripes and other patterns to balance them out.

I hope to get all of these in sosovintage this weekend.  I will, however, be sequestered in my room doing my taxes all day tomorrow.  I cannot wait to have that task checked off of my list.  Tomorrow at this time I should be skipping around the house, ready to go out to dinner and celebrate!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend... be sure to come on back Monday for a custom heirloom Easter basket highlight.

Thursday's Treasure

It was love at first sight when I laid eyes on this tray liner at the thrift this week.  It was just sitting on a shelf in a bag... with about 15 others!  And boy are they big- over 13" in diameter.  None of them are perfect, but many of them are in pretty darned good shape.  Could be used as is, or as inspiration for another project.  Ooh, how about a garland?  Or placecards?  What would you make with this?   Share your idea in the comments- one of these just might show up on your doorstep ;)

All things in moderation, right?  As I continue on my lighter living journey, I'm finding a new appreciation for tasty treats in small doses.  My dessert of choice these days is an apple, with a tablespoon of this dip on the side.  Yes, the main ingredient is high fructose corn syrup.  Yes, all of the calories are from fat.  But I'll take those 60 calories over a giant cupcake any day!  Highly recommend!

After almost an entire non-winter, we have daffodils and forsythia blooming already.  But would you believe that right now, as I type, it is snowing?  It is so pretty, and made for a great walk this morning.  I'm looking forward to a morning of cutting fabric to fill this weekend's orders, and then an afternoon of hitting the thrift sales.  What do you have in store for this week?
