A Rug is Born!

Date: January 21, 2009

Time: 2:09 pm

Height: 54"

Width: 30"

Weight: 5 lbs., 6.5 oz.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After an arduous yet pleasant multi-week labor, all 1, 620 square inches of "Sunshine" has arrived!
She embodies 16 different fabrics in all...4 modern cotton sheets, 3 vintage sheets, 3 men's shirts, 1 baby blanket, and 5 pairs of PJ bottoms.
She can't wait to go to her new home, though I am still contemplating the safest and most economical way to get her there. She will be met with a lot of love, that's for sure!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Farewell, sweet Sunshine! May you bring and enjoy comfort and peace for many years to come.

You are truly a most gifted artist! My, Oh, My, she is a beauty!!! I can't even imagine walking all over her; instead, perhaps she'll grace a wall or lie at the foot of my bed as a decorator's touch, or maybe just to throw over myself when I need a hug or some company. You see, you have not just created a rug, you have delivered a friend! I know how much labor, time, and creativity you poured into this original piece of work and I appreciate it more than you know. Thank you so very much for this most wonderful work of art! You're a genius with some fabric and a hook; again, thank you so much! Jan

Today I received my rug and how wonderful she is!! You managed to decipher my words and conjure up my desire and create the exact, perfect rug I was looking for! She is aptly named for no other rug in this world could ever be called "Sunshine" and live up to that standard except for the treasure you so expertly crafted and presented to me! I will treasure her for her beauty and for the time honed skill you have perfected and will happily and lovingly pass her on to future generations. Thank You ever so much, Jan
