What The...? Wednesday

When I saw this in an antique mall last week, I was immediately drawn to the pretty blue metal and the green wooden handle. It has a super shabby industrial feel to it. I had no idea what it was until I read the tag, though. Thank goodness for sellers who know what they are selling, right? So, I ask you...do you know what this is? Leave your best guess in the comments- I'll be back with the correct answer tomorrow :)

Hmmm! That does look pretty cool. I could only guess.... An antique onion chopper, tomato chopper?

It's a french fry chopper, for making home made french fries. Yum! My mom had one just like this, only it was silver with a wood toned wooden handle.

I thought, Ooh, ooh! I know, I know! It's for taters! Others beat me to it. :) Love the colors. I bet it has a nice "heft" to it, being vintage. New stuff just isn't made that way. Love it.

Isn't this called a ricer? Used for making strippy pieces of potatoes and other veggies, I believe.

It looks like an older version of my "vidalia" the onion chopper I got for Christmas

It's for making chips 8D
Chuck in a peeled potato, pull down the handle and out pop the chips. Then cook 'em. YUMMY!!!
