Thursday's Treasure

Sophie got to go blackberry picking and fishing with my dad this week! He took her to the farm and pond across the street from their house.  They came home with a pound of fresh berries, and *together* they managed to catch two sunnies.  Here she is looking dainty and proud!

Some of my fondest fishing memories include my grandfather. In my mind's eye I can so easily picture his giant hand reaching into the cricket container to nab one to put on my hook.  Trouble was, about ten of the darn things would jump out every time he did this, and we'd end up with crickets chirping all over the boat!  What a treasure to know that Sophie will have fond fishing memories with her grandfather, too.

Precious. Priceless memories are always created while fishing.

I guess Sophie will be beginning kindergarten in September. Full day? Half day? That big yellow school bus comes and whisks our children away--are you ready for this? I know I don't handle change very well!

Proud and happy were had by one and all...Pa and Sophie!!! They did indeed have a lovely time and Sophie is already looking forward to doing it again!!

Was touched your fishing memories with your own Grandpa...as his daughter, I can attest to how much he enjoyed getting "out there" and with his "Stinker" it was made even more of a fising day for him as well! I know this because he so enjoyed you and bragged about your fishing prowess to anyone who would listen! Hold your memories close to your heart!
