I have gone months without finding one piece of pink or aqua Pyrex.

Then, BONANZA- 4 gorgeous mixing bowls in one store! I found the large turquoise butterprint bowl first, then the others appeared as I went up and down the different aisles. It was a happy day for me at the Salvation Army. Look for all of these in sosovintage this week!

Thursday's Treasure

Behold the near perfect lazy susan set thrifted from the Goodwill this week!

The center strawberry dish was nowhere near the 4 side plates. I'm so glad I hunted around. The price was pretty high for these pieces compared to the usual Goodwill cost, but the awesome cashier helped me out a bit. On her own she thought that $2.96 per small side dish was too expensive, so she called the manager to confirm. The manager said it should be 96 cents per piece- so I saved $8. This set will be available in sosovintage today!

New Big Bowl

For the first time in a loooooong time, I crocheted a big ole bowl *just because*. I wish it were possible to capture the softness and detail of this one in photographs. It is made from a freshly laundered, pink paisley jersey knit cotton sheet. She measures 11" across and stands about 4.5" tall. This one would make a gorgeous container for makeup or hair accessories for girls of all ages. Look for it in sosorosey very soon- price tag: $30.

Adventures in Bulk

I recently decided to place my second bulk supply order. I was running out of boxes, and was also looking for some specific colors and products to help me further brand my "rosey" shop.

One of the things (besides packing tape), that I know I spend way too much money on when buying at craft stores is paper shred. I use it for lots of my wrapping, and it seems like I always need another package. I can get the kraft kind at the dollar store, but, as you may have guessed, I am a sucker for pink. The pink shred at Michael's is $2-$3 a package!


So, in my infinite wisdom, I decided to purchase some with my order. Why it did not occur to me that over 11 pounds of shred might be too much is beyond me. I mean, I did wonder why of all of the things I ordered, that one had a big, red *oversized item* next to it on the invoice...but I let that go in the name of penny-pinching.


My giant box of shred arrived last week. I have to laugh out loud at this. For whatever reason I thought I would be getting bags of shred inside of a box. Hahahahahahahahaha. No. I literally have a giant sized box of pink shred!


I love it, but I am starting to believe there may be a Murphy's Law related to buying lots of packaging supplies. I am dying to use my new goodies, but I haven't sold anything since I got my order. O_O. I'm looking on the bright side, though. If Etsy would like to choose me as a featured seller, I am READY, man. Soooo ready!!

Makeover Monday 5/11

I love, love, love the unique and beautiful texture created by, and embodied in, fabric crochet. Take a relatively "plain" pink cotton sheet, for example...

...cut it up, and voila!, a shabby chic pencil pot for your cottage office! The dimension and interest of the pink sheet is FAR from plain now, isn't it??

A tip about fabric crochet: to get a better feel for how a fabric will look once worked up, be sure to look at the front AND back of the fabric. This pink sheet, for example, is much lighter on the back, making the overall effect even more mottled and heavily textured.

Something New!

It's a little strange, I admit it, how in love I am with this new item. I can't stop looking at these, and holding them carefully, and marvelling at their dainty perfection.

A fabric swatch of a sweet pink rose from a vintage sheet, a scalloped crochet border, and a paper bead in complementary shades combine with a sturdy gift tag and thin polka dot ribbon to equal one thing: pure feminine romance.

What woman wouldn't melt a little seeing one of these on the top of a package? She'll never forget who the gift came from, because she won't want to throw away the tag! That's OK- it makes a great bookmark, too.

See Karen, I told you I would come up with something special to do with the gorgeous beads you made for me...I suspect you'll be getting another order for these soon!!

Cute Fix

Happy Monday! In case you happen to be dragging after the weekend, I thought I'd post a little pick me up just for you! This is from my stash of extra vintage wrapping paper...aren't these pups just the most adorable things you've seen today? Can't beat the colors, either.
