New Space

For the last couple of weeks, Sophie has been off and on preoccupied with her bottom front tooth's looseness.  While she was feeling excited about the "big kidness" of it all, I knew she was a little nervous about whether or not it would hurt when it came out.  Now all of that wonder and worry is behind her, and she is indeed feeling very mature- her tooth came out Friday night during "pizza and movie night"!!
~*~
In a humorous twist of events, she didn't even feel it come out.  Didn't even know it had come out, until I asked her how the tooth was doing.  She showed me, and I shrieked, "It's not THERE!!!"  We looked in vain all over the couch, in the ice cream bowl, in her pajamas.  Yep.  You guessed it.  She must have swallowed it.
~*~
So, Sophie spent the remainder of the evening shaking her head saying, "I can't believe it" and looking at her new space in the mirror.  We wrote a note to the tooth fairy explaining what happened.  Fortunately, the tooth fairy is not a stickler for seeing the actual tooth.  She left a glittery dollar bill for our big girl.  Who, by the way, swears that she will never, ever spend that special dollar.

Aahh..eating her tooth without knowing. Oh, bless her!
And what a lovely tooth fairy for not being such a stickler :o)

When my eldest daughters first tooth came out, she was eating an ice cream and it dropped into it..but we did find it though :o)

I love this post :o)

Have a lovely week Jennie.
Love and hugs to you all,

CONGRATULATIONS, Sophie! My what a big girl you are--you look so grown up with that lovely space in your beautiful smile. I too once lost a tooth while eating. Cookies. Outside. Swinging on my swings. According to the tooth fairy, she said she actually did find it on the ground under my swing set.

Now, just don't lose that dollar!

I just know that whenever my Sophie does something it's "one of a kind"!! To lose your tooth is pretty normal...to eat your tooth is "Sophie"!!! THat's my girl!! :)

awww that's so sweet! I remember I was 4 years old when I lost my first tooth, and unluckily it hurt, and I was so scared I asked my mom if my bones were starting to fall apart! haha! by the time I was 10, I had lost all of my baby teeth, and started cutting my wisdom teeth my freshman year in college at the age of 18/19 (only to get them pulled 3 years later) but comgrats to sophie's milestone! glad it wasn't painful for her!
