July 4th Breakfast

Clearly I am not going to be sought after as a food photographer, but you get the idea.  Angel food cake with strawberries, blueberries and coconut shavings.  Whipped cream was offered and declined, strangely enough.  It's so fun to have a special red, white and blue breakfast to start the holiday!
I got the idea for this one from a magazine at the dentist's office yesterday.  Sophie is still in the *no-cavity* club, and I got to be one of those people that surreptitiously rips out recipes.  Well, I thought I was being cool about it, until Sophie asked (rather loudly), "Mom, why are you tearing that magazine?!"  Doh.

Don't you just love it when children give you away! It only gets worse as they get older too, so you'll have to start behaving yourself when you and Sophie go out :D

Love that recipe tho'! I think it was well worth pinching :D

Looks delicious. I do the same thing--tearing out easy recipes from magazines. We all do it--don't feel bad--Sophie will someday too! Happy 4th!

I bet Ms Sophia LOVED that breakfast!!! She has such a good Mommy!!

You're just being a "chip off the old block" when you rip through those mags!! Just think, you're giving those rich Dr's another thing to feel good about...spending their hard earned money on mag subscriptions that provide entertainment as well as healthy, wholesome food recipes to their patients! Never again feel guilty about tearing those articles and recipes out....just don't get too mad when someone has ripped it out before you!!! :)
