Now and Then

Old fashioned goodness with a modern twist!
~*~

~*~
Hopefully you can tell now that the new item is a baby bib!  I finally took the time to work out the details of the vision in my head, and I sure hope others find them as cute as I do.
~*~

~*~
First, I found and modified an antique bib pattern.  Then, I dug through my collection of vintage buttons to find just the right ones to complement each color.
~*~

~*~
It took me several tries to get the "finishing touch" just right.  What I attempted initially was just way too busy.  The bow is simple and sweet, which is exactly the look I was hoping to achieve.
~*~
The details: Each bib body is made from silky soft 100% mercerized cotton. These can be machine washed in cold water on a gentle cycle, but handwashing is best. Lay flat to dry. Price: $20

I value your opinions, and would really appreciate hearing your thoughts, questions, and/or suggestions about the design, price, photos, etc. Thanks in advance!

Odds and Ends

You're right, Donna- here's the green!  I am saving my pretty green sheets for a rug, but I had some nice cotton yarn begging to be crocheted.
~*~
And, after lots of procrastinating, I've finally begun to list my vintage buttons.  Taking photos of carded buttons is tricky for me, so I will be slowly getting my skills up to par and getting these in the shop.  If you are looking for a certain size, color, or design- shoot me a message- I may just have what you're looking for!
~*~
In other news, I have been slacking on my "big item" listing.  And all of you were so sweet not to call me on it!  I'll be going on vacation for Easter, so I plan to get one big thing in the shop before I go.  Stay tuned!

Friday Fun: Price is Right Game 3

Welcome! Come join the fun- the more, the merrier!

The Game: I show you my thrift shop haul from one recent outing. You leave a comment with your best estimate of the total amount that I paid. For you sticklers out there, this does include sales tax. The person who comes closest without going over wins!
~*~
The Rules: One clear and definitive guess per person- no amending your answer. Please do not choose the same answer as a person who came before you- check the comments before leaving your guess. Game goes for 24 hours- I'll post the receipt and winner here. Please be sure I know how to get in touch with you- either through email or Etsy shop name. Play nice and have fun :)
~*~
The Prize: The satisfaction of winning, AND $5 in "soso bucks"- can be applied to any purchase in either of my shops. Can be saved and spent at a later time, up to one year. Can also be combined with future "soso bucks" wins!
~*~
The Stuff: This week the loot is from a hospital charity thrift shop, non-sale day. Prices here are inconsistent, and I promise I'm not just saying that to throw you off. I am always surprised at how high some things are, and how low others are.

Robin's Egg + Red = Retro Yummy

I am ridiculously enamored of my new napkin cuffs! I keep stealing glances at them in my sunroom, smiling at the sweet vintage buttons and the adorable color combo.

~*~
Don't these buttons look like itty bitty Jell-O molds?
~*~

I decided to use one of my 5 photo slots on Etsy to show what these look like when un-buttoned. They are adjustable! Can you think of anything else you might use these for besides napkin rings? I'd love to hear your ideas!!

Button Binge

I have been on a serious spending spree, gathering up vintage buttons like candy! These gorgeous kiwi swirls came from brizelsupplies ; I highly recommend the products and customer service in this fabulous shop! Nicole has her own handcrafted items for sale on Etsy, too. You can check those out by clicking HERE.

Are these vintage aqua teardrop buttons to die for, or what? These arrived quickly and well-wrapped from sewingvineyard. There are LOTS of unique vintage goodies in that shop, so do stop by if you need a little retail therapy or just a jaunt down memory lane!
