A New Shape

As I sat down the other night with the remainder of this gorgeous purple vintage sheet, I decided that it deserved a special purpose. I had been thinking about adding a *median price range* bowl to the shop, for those who'd like something larger than the 3" or 5" ones that I typically offer.
~*~
I came up with the idea of combining a bowl and a coaster and making sort of a shallow dish. One that could be used as a sweet centerpiece, or as a container for items that you really want to see all of. Like makeup, maybe. Or some kind of pretty potpourri or collection of little things. This "art bowl" measures over 8" wide and the sides slope up gently to stand about 2" high. Price tag: $15.
~*~
Please help me out with my description...what would YOU put in a container like this?

ooooh that purple is pretty!. I love the idea of more sizes. Would you consider making one long and narrow? Just throwing an idea out there =)

Jennie, the size, shape, and colors are just perfect! I love it. :-)

As for the contents, how about:
-keys, cell phone, other pocket goodies
-small book or magazine display
-fruit
-candy
-lotions, medications, etc.
-crayons, markers, pens, pencils
-silk flowers
-jewelry

Beautiful!! And so many uses. I'm in love with table settings and think it would make a perfect bread basket or roll server.

How about as a plant pot rest? It would work well for any plants that aren't in pots that leak. :)

Beautiful work, as always!
