Dead As A...

... doornail.  Yep, that describes both of my shops lately.
So, I wondered, what IS a doornail?  And where did that expression come from?
Perhaps you are wondering, too.  All the answer you ever wanted can be found right HERE.

Well I never.... Isn't it amazing the things you can now learn at a click (or a few clicks) of a button!
I think it's the last reason quoted. It does seem to sound more plausable. :o)

Oh you're so lovely...fancy looking it up for us all to nosey at :o)

I wish you had had other things to do though -specially like crocheting orders, or cutting fabric orders...:o(
Maybe it's just that time of the year though Jennie. Hopefully your shops will be buzzing again very soon. :o)

Happy evening Jennie.

Very surprised about your shops. It will pick up again. Sometimes I feel invisible on Etsy, but I really don't put enough time and energy there.

I knew dead as a door nail was used by Shakespeare--remember that from my English lit days. I actually thought he coined that phrase. Thanks for sharing!
