Thursday's Treasure

There is something special about vintage vinyl wallpaper. The soft feel, the lovely texture, the weighty drape of it. I found these two beautiful rolls at two different thrift stores a few weeks ago, but haven't been sure how to list them. I finally did some research this morning, and was surprised at the going rate for a foot of vintage wallpaper!

The pink roses with avocado dots and coordinating stripe is a brand new roll. It is a very generous 27 inches long, but unfortunately, I have no idea exactly how many feet come on a roll. My best guess is 40 feet.

This slate blue flowers and vines roll has a really cool raised stripe texture. It is a partial roll that measures 21" long. Again, without unrolling, I am not sure how many feet are here. My estimate: 20 feet.

So, here's the fun part!
I paid $2.99 for the pink and .90 for the blue.
I've seen vintage wallpaper on Etsy for $6.50+ a foot.

Supposing I only charged $5 a foot, that's $300 worth of wallpaper for $3.89. Not bad, right?

Hi Evelyn! Your comment brightened my day too :) I think I'm going to list in pieces- maybe 2 foot sections- with the option to purchase more at a discounted rate. I'm so sorry the flu has hit you all so hard. I was the only one to get it in my family, thank goodness, but it took a couple of weeks to make a full recovery. Hang in there!!

Good find on the wallpaper! Having been a lover of wallpaper once upon a time, I think you should sell the pink as a whole roll and advertise the whole length of the blue. By the way, wallpaper is easily unrolled and rerolled for your exact advertising measurement so you may wish to do that. I think selling the whole roll allows someone to be really creative and maybe paper a whole wall or the lower half of a couple of walls or even the back of an antique hutch...and the uses go on and on! Good Luck!

These papers are so pretty Jennie! All the wallpapers I've ever found are kind of...well, boring really! But these are very pretty and very usable! A great find! Take care, hope you're out of the snow now!

I agree, they are really pretty. I so need to rip down the wallpaper in my bedroom and redo it. I know I have been here about 12 years and it was on the wall when I got here.
